Community guidelines

The rules that keep Narumelo quiet, kind, and safe. By using the platform you agree to follow them.

Last updated: July 2026

1. Be kind — no pressure to reply fast

Everyone here has a different social battery and a different pace. Don’t guilt people for slow replies, quiet days, or taking breaks. “No rush” is the house motto.

2. Keep circles small and on-topic

Circles are capped at 8 people on purpose. Stay roughly on the circle’s interest, and don’t flood it with messages. A few thoughtful messages a week is the sweet spot.

3. Follow each circle’s house rules

Every circle may have its own rules, written by its owner and shown before you join. Follow them while participating. Circle rules may be more specific than these guidelines, but they can never permit harassment, discrimination, illegal activity, unsafe behaviour, or anything else prohibited across Narumelo.

Circle owners should keep rules clear, relevant, and fair. Members can leave at any time and should report a rule that conflicts with Narumelo’s platform-wide policies.

4. No sharing private contact info in circles

Phone numbers, home addresses, and personal emails don’t belong in a circle chat. If you and someone agree to take a connection elsewhere, do it through the mutual DM feature after you’ve both opted in.

5. Respect consent in direct messages

A DM only opens when both people agree. Never try to circumvent this by posting personal contact info in a circle, prompt response, or profile bio. Unsolicited messaging is not allowed.

6. No harassment, hate, or manipulation

Racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, gaslighting, and any form of targeted cruelty are not tolerated. Persistent unwanted attention after a decline or block will get you removed.

7. No spam, scams, or solicitation

Don’t use Narumelo to advertise, recruit, pitch MLMs, run promotions, or phish. Circle messages about “amazing opportunities” will be removed, and repeat offenders banned. Do not mass-send circle invite links or repeatedly invite someone who has declined.

8. Be honest, but gentle

Misrepresenting yourself (fake identity, false credentials, stolen photos) undermines trust. At the same time, you’re not required to share anything you’re uncomfortable with — your city, age range, and bio are all optional.

9. Adults only

Narumelo is for people 18 and older. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it immediately.

Reporting matters.Available report controls send the issue to Narumelo’s moderation queue. Authorised human moderators prioritise reports by severity and available context. You won’t always see every action taken, but when in doubt, report it.

What happens when rules are broken

Depending on severity and pattern, our moderators may:

  • Send a warning and remove the offending message.
  • Suspend the account temporarily (no sign-in possible).
  • Permanently ban the account and remove it from all circles.
  • Report illegal activity to the relevant authorities.

Suspended users can request a review by contacting hello@narumelo.com with their account username and relevant context. We aim to use a different authorised reviewer where moderation capacity allows.

A living document

These guidelines evolve as the community does. We’ll announce material changes in the app and update the “last updated” date above. If something here feels wrong or missing, tell a moderator.

The short version: be kind, be honest, go slow, and report anything that feels off. That’s all we ask.
